We've had six babies by "Roy" out of Dakota Bay Solaire, a granddaughter of Upwey Ben Don, including:

1. Bluebird Betty, 1994, (Iron Forge Royalty x Dakota Bay Solaire) with Sarah Harrison. Photos by Marlenea Ober.

Roy's oldest daughter, Betty, a black mare, was named In Hand Grand Champion Mare in: Montana's 1996 Governor's Cup (open show), 1997 Western Working Morgan Horse Show, and 1997 Clarence Bruce Memorial Arabian Horse Show. She was Reserve Champion Senior Mare at the 1998 Clarence Bruce Spring Classic, 1998 Montana Morgan Show (Class A).

2. Bluebird Praise, 1995 black chestnut filly, small white star and thin white strip. Elegantly refined 15h black chestnut filly, gorgeous head, lovely top line. She is graceful and very smooth. Sweet, a joy to work with. Praise is now owned by Bonnie Ingham of Whitefish, MT. Praise is being used as Bonnie's mount in trail, working cattle, and reining.

3. Bluebirds New Song, 1996, (Iron Forge Royalty x Dakota Bay Solaire)

New Song is a dark chestnut mare with a small white star. She has been shown to top ribbons in Montana's 1997 Governor's Cup (open show), 1998 Montana Morgan Horse Show, and the 1999, 2001, and 2002 Gallatin Classic Horse Shows. She is being trained and ridden by her 12-year-old owner, Ruthie Harrison (with Mom's help, of course!) Pedigree.

4. Bluebird Brigadier, 1997, (Iron Forge Royalty x Dakota Bay Solaire)

Brigadier is a beautiful dark bay gelding. He has begun his saddle training and has gone to his new home with Marilyn Pearson in Helena, MT. He is serving Marilyn as her pleasure mount and we are so pleased that he has such a loving home.

5. Bluebird Morning Star, 1998, (Iron Forge Royalty x Dakota Bay Solaire)

Upheaded with big, beautiful eyes, this handsome 1998 Morgan gelding will mature at 15.1hh.

His breeding represents some of the most respected show and sport bloodlines of the Morgan breed. His balanced conformation and smooth, flowing gaits make him a natural for many disciplines, especially Hunter, Western, and Dressage. Professionally trained. He could be your best buddy! Now owned by Christie Brooks, Meriden, NH

6. Bluebird Melody (Iron Forge Royalty x Dakota Bay Solaire)

Pretty, black, and sweet with a doll-faced head. This lovely 2000 Morgan filly will mature at about 14.3 h.

Her full sisters have done very well in halter and are excellent youth mounts. Her beauty and quality breeding make her an excellent show prospect and future broodmare. She represents some of the most respected show and sport bloodlines of the Morgan breed. Melody has five full siblings whose pictures appear above on this page. Now owned by Cheryl Arnold Stipek & Mike Stipek, Music Hill Morgans, Monroe, WA.

7. Senator Burns, at 2 years, (Iron Forge Royalty x Benne's Christina)

Beautiful, athletic, and upheaded. This big black 1999 colt moves with breath-taking suspension! Our oldest daughter, Sarah, is training "Bernie" as a hunter/jumper. He stands 15.1 h as a 3-year-old, and we expect him to mature between 15.3 and 16 h. His breeding emphasizes the sport-type Morgan.

His sire and dam both possess talent in Dressage and both have three excellent gaits. His dam, Benne's Christina is a 15.3h sport horse mare, trained to 3rd level dressage. Her pedigree reflects old government and western working blood lines.
